On August 2nd, Katie proved once again that OI will not get the better of her! Despite the fact that the July 30th swim was postponed due to weather and the lack of additional boats caused a change in the route to become an offshore swim, she stayed positive. She maintained a speed between 1.5 and 2 mph right till the very end. She was ultimately the one to decide that the chop in the Lake was becoming a safety risk for everyone and stop a couple miles short of the Grand River and the 25.5 mile mark!
She swam over 20 miles and could have kept going! Her strength and determination are beyond her years. We couldn't be more proud.
